This whitetail features white hair, a professionally tanned hide, and excellent taxidermy craftsmanship. Albinism is a result of cells not being able to produce melanin. Melanin is needed to color skin, hair, and eyes, so people or animals with albinism appear white. This is a genetic condition that gets passed to offspring only if both parents have the gene. Since albinos are so rare and protected in some states, it has earned our Star™ designation.
